These rolls were super quick and easy to whip up.
They are a bit on the heavy side but have a wonderful flavor and are quite good.
Buttermilk Rolls
2 packets of dry yeast
1 1/2 cups lukewarm buttermilk
3 tablespoons sugar
1/4 oil
4 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1. Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water and add buttermilk, sugar and oil.
2. Sift flour, baking soda and salt into yeast mixture. Mix well and knead 10 minutes.
3. Pinch off 2-inch balls of dough and place until dough volume doubles.
4. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.
5. Brush with melted butter.
